Gun Lake Casino Audit Clerk in Wayland, Michigan

Position Summary:

Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. Performs daily audit for various operational areas including Table Games, Slots, Food & Beverage, Cage, Poker, & Promotions to ensure accurate recording of transactions and adheres to our minimum internal controls. Consolidates information for revenue reporting and recording on general ledger. Prepares necessary statistical spreadsheets in compliance with gaming regulations.

In this Role:

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino’s Service Standards at all times.

  • Daily audit of gaming and non-gaming operations for accuracy and compliance. Audit area of assigned responsibility may include Table Games, Slots, Food and Beverage, Cage, Kiosks, leased vendors and complimentaries.

  • Audit includes reviewing system and paper documentation.

  • Preparing appropriate spreadsheets and verify balances to computerized system reports. Identifying, investigating, and resolving all reporting variances for general ledger.

  • Audit also includes reviewing all activity for operational adherence to our minimum internal controls and policy and procedures. Preparation of appropriate exception reports for non-compliant items.

  • Consolidates revenue information for preparation of the daily reports for Management and prepares daily journal entries and statistical reports.

  • Prepares and completes audits in an organized professional manner including electronic and paper file storage to ensure ease of access of information by Management, internal and external auditors.

  • Performance of other accounting, compliance and administrative tasks maybe required from time to time – quite often on short notice.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Prior audit and accounting experience and/or advance schooling in applicable field is preferred.

  • Knowledge on Excel is required with general knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience with operational software is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.

  • Must be able to perform basic data entry, experience with 10-key preferred.

  • Must have a talent for organization and enjoy detail work.

  • Must be able to support Accounting in a team environment.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain gaming license from Gun Lake Tribal Gaming Authority.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.

  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, run, and climb stairs for the duration of shift.

  • Must have the ability to access all properties and areas.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. with or without assistance.

  • Ability to read, write and input data into the computer.

  • Ability to stoop, crouch and kneel.

Work Conditions:

Work is typically in an office environment or out on the casino floor. Work areas may be warm, cold, or noisy. Tasks may be required to perform from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
