Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will check credentials of personnel or vehicles to control access to base posts, buildings, private property, or restricted areas. You will operate hand-held two-way communications devices and electronic scanners while completing security work assignments. You will access a personal identification system to issue vehicle passes and identification badges. You will interview persons to obtain or verify information related to suspicious persons or activity. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Screening and/or inspecting personal and commercial vehicles requesting installation access using detection devices; 2) Controlling personnel access by verifying identification/credentials; 3) Preparing reports of security incidents; and 4) Applying knowledge of current regulations and procedures to enforce compliance of all vehicles and persons entering naval installations to include contacting Security Forces when necessary. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling personnel access by verifying identification; 2) Enforcing security measures required to protect personnel, materials, and property and advising supervisor on crime prevention matters; 3) Assigning work shifts to subordinate employees; 4) Reviewing subordinate employees' work progress, ensuring objectives are met; and 5) Providing on-the-job training to new employees.
