JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced cloud architect to join a cloud team responsible for the disciplined growth and overall oversight of cloud use across the organization, ensuring cloud solutions are built in a secure, cohesive manner, aligning to identified standards and best practices, while achieving business objectives.

This position is eligible for remote work in one of the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. This position will require some travel for office meetings, as needed, to our corporate office in Tulsa, OK.

Job Summary

Working on a cloud team responsible for the disciplined growth and overall oversight of cloud use across the organization, ensuring cloud solutions are built in a secure, cohesive manner, aligning to identified standards and best practices, while achieving business objectives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, security, tools, and systems.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in the use of AWS and Azure platforms, with a primary focus on application modernization.

  • Architect, design, and co-develop serverless platforms leveraging AWS and Azure cloud-native services.

  • Lead the re-architecture, re-design, and re-development of primary applications and services, leveraging AWS and Azure cloud-native services.

  • Lead the integration of flagship enterprise web applications into the AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

  • Align DevOps and Infrastructure as Code for cloud with cloud best practices.

  • Ensure delivered cloud solutions meet/perform to cloud standards.

  • Conduct proof-of-concept work using emerging technologies and present results to executive management.

  • Lead the maturity and growth of the organizations cloud strategy and operationalization plans, identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities in leveraging cloud to achieve business goals.

  • Partner with enterprise, solutions, and data architects and integration teams to build and maintain architectural patterns and cloud alignment strategies.

  • Partner with data architects to implement candidate architectural roadmaps for extending the organization's enterprise data lake in AWS and Azure.

  • Mentor technical teams in the use of cloud technologies, focusing on training opportunities, security, best practices, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.

  • Evaluate and implement various AWS and Azure services new to the organization, planning and architecting how they fit in to the organizational strategy and achievement of business goals.

  • Maintain forward-thinking perspective around where the organization is going and how existing and emerging cloud technologies can support these efforts.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in information technology or other related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience.

Work Experience

  • Experience as a Cloud Architect with AWS and/or Azure, with a focus on application modernization.

  • Experience in leading application modernization efforts, leveraging AWS and Azure cloud-native services.

  • Experience in architecting, designing, and developing serverless platforms on AWS and Azure.

  • Experience with ML/AI platforms on AWS and Azure.

  • Experience with AWS and Azure Data and Analytics platform services.

  • Experience with DataOps and tools for data democratization, governance, and security standards.

  • Experience with integrating enterprise web applications into the AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

  • Experience with software design patterns, agile software development, and CI/CD practice.

  • Strong understanding of network architecture, SOA, APIs, identity, and application development methodologies.

  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT development partners.

  • CCSK (Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) preferred.

  • AWS and/or Azure cloud architect certifications preferred.
