What will I be doing?

A Full Time opportunity has become available for an experienced and highly motivated finance professional.Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer has dual responsibility to look after Accounts Receivable and support the Trust Accountant one day per week, or as otherwise agreed.

As this role has dual responsibility the focus of the Account Receivable role is to ensure proper recording of all amounts due to the hotel from guests and inter-companies for the Hotel.Other key duties include:

•Balance all accounts receivable related general ledger accounts to the appropriate reports monthly

•Attending to guest queries and resolving disputes, including completing necessary adjustments where appropriate

•Follow up on all overdue accounts ensuring you meet our level of service

•Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all charges and debits to the various accounts

•Verify all incoming payments and match against the debtor account

•Organise monthly credit meeting and prepare the meeting minutes

•Process new credit applications and set up new AR account when approved

•Ensure that all end of month deadlines and reporting is adhered to

•Drive the reduction of outstanding debtor days

•Maintain good communication and working relationships with all hotel departments

In regards to the Trust Accounting duties, you will be responsible to support the Trust Accountant one day per week, or as otherwise agreed.Other key duties of this role include:

•Trust Account Bank Reconciliations

•Daily Revenue Reconciliation to separate Hotel and Residences’ revenue

•Other ad hoc tasks as agreed upon with the Trust Accountant

What are we looking for?

A Finance Officer, serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members.The position will require the successfulapplicant to possess the following attributes:

  • Relevant degree, in Accounting or related business discipline, from an academic institution
  • Previous experience in a similar position within a Hotel environment preferred
  • Sound knowledge of Navision Accounting System, ONQ PMS and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and absolute discretion with sensitive information
  • Rigorous commitment to accuracy and detail
  • Excellent attitude and customer service focused
