Cabela's Income Tax Staff Accountant in Springfield, United States

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant for Income Tax reports to the Income Tax Manager. This person will work with the Income Tax Manager in filing all of the company’s income tax returns and preparing all income tax work papers.

INCOME TAX STAFF DUTIES:

Income Tax: This position works with all income tax filings: Corporation, Partnership, Limited Liability Company, S-Corporation income tax returns in various jurisdictions within the United States and internationally. The responsibilities of this position include tax research, preparing income tax work papers, using OneSource income tax software to prepare returns, and filing tax estimates and extensions. The position may also work with our outside tax consultants in any tax filing.

Franchise & Miscellaneous Taxes: This position will have responsibility for filing our various franchise tax returns and other miscellaneous tax returns. It will also have responsibility over certain monthly account reconciliations and journal entries.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.

· Two or more years of public accounting experience in tax preferred.

· CPA license is a plus, but not required.

· Strong spreadsheet and word processing skills are necessary. Must be comfortable with internet tax research.

· Must be extremely organized.

· Ability to multi-task while tracking multiple deadlines is necessary.

· Must be self-motivated and take initiative.

· Needs to be able to build successful working relationships with internal and external business partners. Will work with multiple people and levels throughout the organization, public accountants and many different governmental agencies.

· Must be trustworthy and of good character as this position works with extremely confidential and sensitive data.
