The Department of Human Services, , South Mountain Secure Treatment Unit is seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic, compassionate, and caring supervisor who is committed to providing exceptional care to our residents. This employee will be responsible for planning, developing, directing, coordinating, and administering an integrated rehabilitative services program for court committed, adjudicated delinquent residents in the youth development center and youth forestry camp systems. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Youth Development Counselor Supervisor, you will actively supervise professional and nonprofessional employees who provide rehabilitative treatment, education, recreation and social development programs to our residents. You will direct the development and implementation of individual resident case management plans in cooperation with other agency employees, juvenile justice authorities, local education providers and aftercare service providers. You will train and evaluate staff in the agency's principals and practices and act as a good role model for professional expectations. Additionally, you will schedule and coordinate regular resident treatment meetings, staff meetings, and supervisory conferences.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours include varying shifts in a 24/7/365 operation, holidays and weekends, 8-hour shifts normally consisting of: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM 9:00AM to 5:00 PM 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Will work 1 evening shift per week and 1 weekend per month. Travel and overtime as needed Work hours, travel and overtime may change based on operational need. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Youth Development Counselor; or One year of professional counseling experience with delinquent, pre- delinquent, or socially maladjusted youth in an organized program, and a bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, special education, juvenile delinquency or criminal justice; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which included one year of professional counseling experience in the care, custody, supervision, activities, leadership or personal guidance of delinquent, pre- delinquent or socially maladjusted youth in an organized program. Other Requirements: is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
