This position is located in the Shreveport office of Disability Determinations Services.

This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months.

As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). The maximum salary for the Administrative Coordinator 3 is $1,887.20 biweekly. Individuals selected for positions with the Disability Determination Service (DDS) will go through a complete federal background investigation. A suitability determination by the Social Security Administration is necessary to determine whether an employee can be issued credentials in order to have access to Social Security disability data, records, and systems. Your conditional job offer and access to Social Security Administration's (SSA's) systems, data, information, and/or premises are contingent upon you passing the SSA suitability process.

*Note: This covers the preliminary screening (pre-screen) and the final background adjudication stage of the suitability process.

Examples of Work

Answers multi-line telephone or switchboards, giving routine information and screening calls.

Greets visitors.

Receives, sorts, and distributes mail.

Collects and prepares for processing time and attendance sheets for department or office.

Performs routine filing of documents and maintains filing systems.

Copies and/or distributes correspondence, reports, and other documents.

Receives cash, checks, credit cards, vouchers, or departmental charges from customers and/or employees in payment for goods or services.

May operate various office equipment (such as copy machine, calculator) that requires no special knowledge or previous training.

May deliver and pick-up various materials.

Performs related duties as assigned.
