Seattle Children’s Hospital Scheduling Coordinator, Sickle Cell in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities: Responsible for scheduling accurate and timely appointments and modeling Seattle Children's core values by providing excellent, quality customer experiences for Seattle Children's patients, families and clinic partners. Coordinators are assigned to a scheduling team, with a primary location at either the Contact Center or the Hospital, but with responsibilities and rotations at both locations. Scheduling Coordinators serve as the first point of contact for patients and families seeking care in our Ambulatory Specialty Clinics and scheduling roles may involve coordination of scheduling across specialties. Scheduling Coordinators provide valuable information and reassurance to families; demonstrating empathy, high attention to detail, aptitude at multi-tasking, effective prioritization and commitment to teamwork. The Coordinator works collaboratively with team members to provide quality service to ensure delivery of safe patient care. Staff in this role communicate frequently in a variety of formats with our many partners, both internal to SCH and outside our organization. Job Posting Addendum: Extra tasks: This position will work closely with our Sickle Cell team. This coordinator will partner and alsign with Cancer, Hematology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Immunology, and Infusion services. Will help coordinate Radiology appointments for families. Plan and coordinate services for patients and families who need procedures done within the Cancer and Blood disorders center to ensure that each customer encounter is positive, professional and efficient. Duties include: clinic appointment scheduling (i.e new, returnn, pre-op, post-op, PASS), diagnostic test scheduling, procedure scheduling under anesthesia, coordinating across services and with interpreters. Complete necessary steps for approvel processes (i.e insurance authorization, legal guardianship). Additional duties will include just in time needs from families in alignment with organization standards. Work closely with OR and Radiology for maximum room utilization and timely day of service experience. Integration of internal scheduling flows with external partners (i.e. SCCA, Proton Center, UW Radiation Oncology, COmmunity Chemotherapy) to provide value- stream oriented care delivery for each patient. Requirements: Required Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent experience. Minimum of one (1) year customer service and/or administrative support experience. Experience using computers with a high degree of accuracy. Complete epic training and obtain a passing score on the End User Proficiency Assessment (EUPA) test within 2 weeks of start date. This test can be taken a maximum of three times after completion of the EPIC training. Required Credentials: N/A. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree. Three (3) years experience working in a health care setting or related field. Significant experience working with the general public in a health care/customer service environment. Familiarity with other cultures/bilingual skills. Experience in Epic Cadence. Min to Max Hourly Salary: $21.94 - $32.90 /hr Min to Max Annual Salary: $45,635.20 - $68,432.00 /yr Salary Information: This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
