FirstService Residential Maintenance Technician in Scottsdale, Arizona

Job Overview:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform general maintenance tasks including general clean up, painting, building and equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring systems are properly maintained and operational and the community is kept safe and clean.​

Compensation: $20+ per hour

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Your Responsibilities:

  • ​​​​Assist in the preparation and implementation of a preventive maintenance program for the buildings, including photos and maintenance schedules.
  • Works with Maintenance Supervisor to verify the completion of work orders with solutions/repairs being logged daily.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
  • Be always courteous and pleasant to residents.
  • Setup, arrange and remove decorations, tables, chairs, to prepare facilities for events such as board meetings.
  • Clean and polish furniture fixtures.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Clean low-level windows, glass partitions and mirrors.
  • Gather and empty trash daily and per schedule along with daily service or restrooms.
  • Steam clean or shampoo carpets as needed or per schedule. This includes mixing water and detergent in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Cleaning floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming as per the prescribed schedule. Also stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing floors as needed.
  • Responsible for maintenance cart and supplies on maintenance cart (cart must be stored out of sight when not in use). This includes maintaining an equipment log and ordering needed supplies on a regular basis.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • ​Proven initiative and strong work ethic.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment 7-year criminal investigation and drug screening.
  • ​Must have general knowledge of building mechanics, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical

Education and Experience:

  • HOA residential maintenance OR equivalent: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Excellent handyman skills, including maintenance in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC (2 years Preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned
  • Able to lift to 50+ pounds

Work Hours: Flexible part-time; 4 days per week from 6:30a - 2:00p
