The Healthcare Safety Consultant applies their risk management expertise to promote and improve clients\' safety culture through on-site safety inspections, written healthcare safety programs, and healthcare safety training presentations. They work directly with clients to identify, assess, and mitigate safety risk and exposure for workers\' compensation and professional liability through preventative, proactive policies, and procedures. The Healthcare Safety Consultant works closely with internal teams and clients to identify and streamline support services for each individual client.

Healthcare

  • Provides safety consultation for assigned clients
  • Develops and reviews written healthcare safety programs across the healthcare space
  • Schedules and conducts client evaluations that include data analytics, historical loss runs, risk areas, and comprehensive reports and recommendations
  • Conducts on-site safety inspections at various client locations where operations may include, but not be limited to, healthcare and related operations
  • Conducts periodic safety training in areas of proficiency as requested by clients and producers
  • Analyze losses to provide benchmarking and trending information
  • Assists with OSHA compliance and education
  • Attends all client and team meetings
  • Provides risk management services and marketing information to potential and current clients
  • Submits activity reports in management system
  • Updates and informs production teams of relevant client information
  • Provides services that are credibly calculated to increase client value
  • Presents at healthcare industry conferences in areas of proficiency

Execution of Client Service

  • Works with Producer and/or Account Executives, service team, carriers and other internal departments to plan, execute and track customized service strategy for each client, designed to create measurable value and efficiencies in their businesses
  • Builds personalized client relationships through demonstrated ownership of the service plan and multiple channels of communication such as phone, email and in-person meetings
  • Analyzes risk, coverage, program structure and recommends options
  • Oversees the accuracy and display of information in client portals; consults with and enacts client decisions on access to portal by their staff
  • Leverages insurance knowledge and communication skills to explain coverage terms, program options and other items to clients as needed
  • Works with internal departments to ensure cohesiveness and timeliness of service execution and creates report of service plan execution through commitment report
  • Manages time effectively to prioritize workload, client service requests and service parameters on business processes

Data and Process Integrity

  • Consistently follows service workflows and appropriately engages internal resources such as process support team, procedure manuals and reporting tools to ensure efficiency and accuracy of execution
  • Accurately maintains complete client files including the clear documentation of account detail in agency management ystems including policy information, activities, attachments and correspondence
  • Achieves desired levels of data completeness and process integrity by consistently meeting activity timelines, quality metrics and goal

Peer Relationships

  • Participates in ongoing scheduled meetings with service team to discuss accounts, renewals, service needs, service platform, etc.
  • Assists with training of new Healthcare Safety Team members and other peers
  • Communicates effectively with team members and provides timely and complete information to allow them to establish positive client relationships and efficiently manage their processes and workload
  • Develops successful and effective working relationships with Producers, Account Executives, service team members, managers, carriers and members of other departments

REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years in the healthcare industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time
  • Home office work area and high-speed internet capability
  • License in nursing or other healthcare related field
