Position Purpose:
The main objective of the position is to service all aspects of the Deposit Transaction Services job functions and manage the team.
Description of Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Responsible for the Deposit Transaction Services team members to include coaching, training, performance evaluations, and to act as a working supervisor.
- Fulfill on the customer experience through the daily, weekly, monthly and annual creation of: documents, monetary instruments, incoming and outgoing file processing, mail, interoffice and external shipping.
- Ensure the accuracy of transactional data for customer accounts by researching and correcting information on non-posted transactions, reviewing and returning stop payment transactions, and posting deposit return items.
- Reviews and processes Garnishments, Levies and Court Orders for customer deposit accounts.
- Daily interactions and communication with the retail team members to assist in problem resolution to create a positive customer experience
- To establish work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness of team's assigned duties.
- To review and evaluate work and performance of subordinates.
Requirements:
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- One to two years of working in the Deposit Operations area of a financial institution or related experience.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work involves motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts are important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary.
- Solid working knowledge of banking industry practices relative to bank deposit operations with respect to Statement Preparation and Image Processing skills.
- Good computer literacy (Word, Excel, Jack Henry Software) with accurate data entry skills; ability to become proficient in use of specific software required for position.
- A high level of initiative, discreteness, attention to detail, thoroughness, accuracy and organizational skills required.
- Good supervisory skills; ability to maintain confidentiality regarding subordinate issues.
- Solid level of independent judgment and problem-solving skills required.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects with varied deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Work involves eye strain due to the frequent use of computer screens, reading of reports and so forth.
- Work involves the ability to operate the necessary machines required for the job.
- Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions.
- Work involves lifting and moving files and boxes of up to 50 lbs.
- Work involves ability to read, hear, write, and communicate professionally both in person and via telephone.
- Work involves alternating between sitting and standing positions.
- Work involves constant finger, hand and arm movements.
- Work involves some travel to attend meetings, training, and so forth.
