About the Role:

This role is part of Confluent's GTM Excellence (GTMX) organization. GTMX is the global sales, solutions engineering, and partner ecosystem enablement function. GTMX is also responsible for the pipeline generating Sales Plays and Sales Play Execution. The co-existence of Sales Plays with Global Enablement yields the highest rewards from a sales productivity standpoint and in achieving our top-line company goals. GTMX has a high impact and influence on the overall success of Confluent’s mission to become THE pioneer Data Streaming Platform company.

As the Sr. Director, GTMX, you will lead the global sales and solutions engineering enablement functions as well as GTMX Content and Platforms. You will help to build and refine the strategies within these functions. Customer and Partner ecosystem enablement will be a key stakeholder of your content and platform strategy. You are integral to the success of the GTM organization, directly impacting its effectiveness and efficiency.

This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, practical sales experience, and the ability to drive execution through inspiration and motivation. Your team will be the champion for generating excitement about enablement and delivering key results through the sales and solutions engineering teams. Strategic cross-functional stakeholder management and executive alignment are key to the success of this role.

What You Will Do:

  • Be an Expert: You will master our Product and Solutions, understand the competitive landscape, comprehend our Partner Strategy, be an expert at Confluent’s sales methodology, and most importantly, understand the sales and revenue expectations and top-line metrics. You will also drive the same expectations from your team.

  • Lead and Drive Execution of Sales, CSG Enablement, and Content: Global Sales and Solutions Engineering Enablement will report to this leader. This leader will also own the GTMX Content and Platforms function. This includes managing and maintaining the content backlog and the end-to-end content development lifecycle and managing and maintaining GTMX content platforms. Today, these platforms are content Raven, Seismic, and Lessonly.

  • Lead and Manage: The Global Sales, Solutions Engineering Enablement, GTMX Content, and Platforms team to set clear goals and evaluate performance to ensure continuous improvement. Develop and execute a comprehensive enablement and content strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. Drive consistency, efficiency, and accountability and create mastery in your team to execute through influence without authority to achieve best-in-class GTM productivity results.

  • Performance Analysis: Measure the success of enablement by monitoring and analyzing sales performance data as it correlates to your execution. You will have a Data Analyst to partner with on the GTMX Strategy and Planning team to help you be data-driven. You will need to identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement, and iterate based on your data analysis.

  • Enablement Platforms and Technologies Leader: Develop and implement a comprehensive enablement platform strategy for enablement and training. Lead the enablement platforms and content team, setting objectives and evaluating performance. Collaborate with enablement platform stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall business goals. Manage the budget for enablement platforms, ensuring cost-effective solutions that provide a high return on investment.

  • Sales Tools and Technologies Management: Evaluate and influence sales tools and technologies (e.g. Tableau, SFDC, LeadIQ, 6sense, Groove, etc) that facilitate efficient processes and enable the sales team to focus on selling by giving a simple and easy workflow and user experience.

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Work closely with other GTMX teams to lead, manage, and influence a team composed of members from different departments, specialties, or functions within the team towards a common goal. Support the Partner and PIE Enablement strategy, led by another GTMX leader, through your enablement content and platforms strategy. Partner closely with Sales and Solutions Engineering leaders to gain input and alignment on GTMX enablement and drive accountability and execution of initiatives. Strategic cross-functional stakeholder management and executive alignment are key to the success of this role.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven Experience in Enablement: Prior experience in developing sales enablement strategies, leading quarterly enablement plans and events, and demonstrating an ability to articulate the impact on business results is crucial.

  • Enablement Technology Experience: Prior experience leveraging technology to improve training, communication, and operational processes, ultimately driving better business outcomes. Demonstrated technical expertise, strategic planning, and leadership to ensure technology solutions deployed exactly align with the organization’s goals and support its teams in achieving their objectives.

  • Content Strategy: Experience shaping and guiding content creation, distribution, and governance to ensure alignment with GTMX enablement goals and effective engagement with target audiences

  • Strong Leadership Skills. These include: A commitment to seek to understand reality, then take steps to improve it, the ability to prioritize ruthlessly and guide teams to deliver fewer things done better, the ability to build a culture of continuous improvement and motivate your team to strive for greatness, experience prioritizing ROI to maximize your impact on the company’s success, ability to communicate directly with a bias for transparency, a willingness to take on difficult challenges and do what is right and the desire to Inspire excellence with GTM teams through enthusiasm, motivation, and a can-do positive attitude.

  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: The capability to analyze sales data and trends with a strategic mindset to develop effective sales enablement strategies.

  • Sales Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with sales enablement tools, CRM software, and digital communication platforms. Experience adopting and implementing new technologies. Ability to monitor and analyze the effectiveness of enablement technologies in improving sales performance and productivity.

  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate GTMX strategies clearly to different audiences.

This position has an annual estimated salary of $205,800 - $246,960 USD, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
