Health Conservation Incorporated Director or Operations in Rockford, Illinois

HCI is a national provider of occupational health services to corporations across the United States. HCI provides an ongoing service to support the health and safety plan of our clients to protect their employees while complying with OSHA regulations. Our core services include audiometric and respiratory screening services via our field technician teams and fleet of mobile units.

Description

The Director of Operations will be based at the HCI headquarters in Rockford, IL and will oversee a nationwide strategic and tactical plan for mobile health screening units through development and implementation of new and efficient testing systems and processes. This person will play a critical role in ensuring that company resources and client services are delivered efficiently on time and in the most cost-effective manner. This “hands on” management position requires a thorough knowledge of each job in the process as well as an ability to manage processes and people as well as equipment resources in a timely manner.  

Responsibilities:

 

  • Supply Chain Strategy:

  • Monitor and analyze areas for improvement and implement appropriate strategies.

  • Maintain a dashboard to track strategies and key performance indicators.

  • Manage the planning process with operational goal setting with Operational leadership and key stakeholders while continually tracking progress of each strategic goal.

  • Design and implement strategies that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of HCI’s operations.

  • Work closely with operations leadership to oversee and execute said strategies.

     

  • Technology and Systems:

  • Evaluate and implement current routing software, transportation management systems, and other logistics tools to streamline operations.

  • Continuously monitor and improve system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure data accuracy.

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and innovations in the logistics field, exploring their potential for enhancing operational efficiency.

     

  • Team Management:

  • Lead and collaborate with route schedulers/planners providing guidance, feedback, and support.

  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team members' knowledge of routing software, transportation regulations, and best practices.

  • Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise.

     

  • Fleet Management:

  • Work closely w/fleet support Manager and oversee the management and maintenance of the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition at all times.

  • Coordinate vehicle repairs, inspections, and regular maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Manage relationships with external transportation providers, negotiate contracts, and monitor service levels.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding vehicle operation, licensing, and insurance.

     

  • Route Planning and Optimization:

  • Collaborate, develop, and implement efficient routing strategies for service delivery, considering factors such as distance, time, target dates, crews, shifts, traffic conditions, and cost.

  • Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for route optimization, client testing coverage, and cost reduction.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and ensure routes align with operational requirements and customer expectations.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to route planning and optimization.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven experience in route analysis, logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with a focus on routing and optimization.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in using routing software, transportation management systems, and other relevant tools.

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation and logistics operations.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle time-sensitive situations.

    Salary commensurate based on experience
