The CNA has more direct contact with the individual patients than doctors, specialists, or other nurses. This is due to the fact that the CNA is responsible for direct patient care and personal needs of each patient. * Meals:Patientfeeding responsibilities.Somepatientswillrequiredirectfeeding,while othersmayjustneed theirmealtraybroughtto them and setup * Oral care, nail care, and basic hygiene * Bathinganddressingofpatient.Bathingmaytakeplaceintheformofabedbath,shower,ortub. * Toiletingofpatients.Oftenpatientswillneedhelpwithmovingonandoffofthefacilities.Somepatientsmay needhelpwithabedpan * Catheter care. Changing of catheter bags and charting amounts * Ambulationassistance.Somepatientsneedhelpgettinginandoutofbeds,wheelchairs,bathtubs,etc. * Vital signs: Blood pressure, pulse, and temperature monitoring. * Answering call lights. * Turningofbedriddenpatients.Thisisdonetotaketheweightoffofpressurepointsandpreventbedsores fromoccurring. * Changing bed clothes and collecting soiled laundry. * Light cleaning and organizing of patients room * Relayingandchartingrequestedinformation.Thismayincludemoods,vitalsigns,mealconsumption,liquid intake,anddailyBMandurineamount * Relaying information to the next CNA on shift, or to the nurse’s in charge. * Recreationalactivities,suchasassistingwithawalkoutdoorsordeliveringreadingmaterialtopatients. * Post mortem care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Utah CNA certificate is required within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to obtain BLS within 60 day of hire.
