Shell Director, Media Sales in New York, New York

Position Purpose

The Shell USA Volta Media team is seeking a Sales Lead to join a NYC based team handling the eastern region of the US. This role will help develop and grow Shell’s Volta Media Revenue while meeting individual revenue targets across Clients and Agencies within assigned region by using digital sales experience, communication skills, and analytical abilities, combined with the passion for making a difference.

This role is critical to the success of the sales organization in that we have carried business from almost every industry, our proximity to retail makes us a must-buy for many categories and penetrate every level of decision makers from buying to planning/strategy/digital to client direct. This role will educate all parties on the value of Shell’s Volta Media Network as it relates to a client’s Omnichannel approach to growing their business. Test and Learn, tied to measurement, will be key to getting new clients off the ground and developing a long term, repeatable business.

Shell’s acquisition of Volta united Volta’s powerful dual charging and media network with Shell’s resources to sit within Shell's newly created North American eMobility team.

Accountabilities:

  • Grow Shell Volta Media Sales Revenue

  • Develop new business through regular interactions with clients and their respective media holding agencies. This will be accomplished through a combination of face-to-face meetings/presentations and virtual meetings

  • Execute a strategic account approach, vertically and horizontally navigating both the client direct and agency relationships. It is expected that you work with your split partners, if client structure requires that.

  • Leverage existing client and/or agency relationships balances stakeholders to ensure client, agency, and buying groups are all aligned on Shell Volta Media value proposition

  • Develop a plan that not only covers the key prospects but elevates Shell Volta Media above other Media Owners

  • Driving client engagement and results is the name of the game in this role

  • Instilling trust is important both internally as well as externally for each client considering buying Shell Volta Media for the first time

Please Note: This is a virtual/remote role with the expectation that employee will work from the NYC office when warranted. This role will require 10-25% business travel within the US.

Requirements

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • Minimum of 5 years work related experience; media selling and digital omnichannel sales is preferred

  • Proven ability to prospect for new clients, cultivate and grow existing relationships and work with internal departments for creative solutions to delivering on client goals

  • Expert ability to tailor your storytelling to match the needs of specific clients, leaning on data and measurement capabilities and results

The base salary range for this position is $122,000.00 - $182,000.00 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents. Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
