FT Registered Nurse - Windsor/Manchester - Flexible

Signing Bonus: $2500

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to help support the people with intellectual disabilities we serve. This is a full time position covering residential programs for the Manchester and Windsor, Connecticut areas with a truly great lifestyle and great working environment.

The mission of Journey Found Inc. is to provide Behavioral, residential and other support services to individuals of Connecticut with Pervasive Developmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities to enable each to become all they are capable of being.

The qualities we are looking for in a Registered Nurse include:

  • Ability to be self-directed with good time management

  • The flexibility to meet the needs of the programs and the people we serve

  • Previous experience working with the DDS population desired but not necessary

  • Desire to provide health care coordination and train direct support staff

  • Excellent computer skills including the use of EMR

Qualifications

  • Experience with intellectual disabilities preferred

  • Current RN license for the state of Connecticut required

  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required

  • Knowledge of trends in nursing and allied professions

  • Has or is able to acquire job specific competencies including but not limited to aging or disabled populations

  • Ability to gather and report on nursing data

  • Has a thorough knowledge of medications used in the population served

  • CDDN certification (Certified in Developmental Disability Nursing) is a plus but not required
