ASM Global Director of Sales & Guest Services (LACC) in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary:

Oversee, develop, and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) Self Contained Sales and Guest Service Department. Develop strong relationships with local industry partners and clients to position the convention center as a premier event location. Partner with internal leadership to develop and execute sales and guest service programs that meet the needs of our clients and elevates the guest experience.

    Essential Duties:

  • Develop and lead a team of proactive sales and guest service team members, with the focus of driving excellence.

  • Develop and implement strategic sales strategies to identify new opportunity and drive increased revenue.

  • Develop and build strong working relationships with local industry partners and organizations to drive awareness of LACC event opportunities.

  • Establish and cultivate a LACC Guest Service culture. Hire and train a guest service team who will partner with clients and internal team members to deliver a professional people-first guest experience.

  • Develop yearly financial budgets. Provide monthly sales forecast to communicate current revenue and booking trends.

  • Be knowledgeable of the basic concept/operations of the Convention Center and work with internal partners to develop streamlined processes and new program/ products.

  • Partner with VP of Sales & Marketing to ensure sales strategies are aligned and channel marketing needs are identified and developed.

  • Establish working relationships with City Tourism Department and Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board to ensure strong collaboration.

  • Support team members in developing lead generation, site inspections, proposals, and contracts

  • Participate and support all ASM Corporate sales initiatives.

  • Be knowledgeable in all-administrative procedures and operational procedures of LACC and always maintain a high public and professional image in representing the Los Angeles Convention Center. Provide updates and reports to the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and City Department as requested regarding inquiries, bookings, site visits and other sales activities.

Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):

  • A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year)

  • Area of Study: Marketing, Business, or related field.

  • Additional years of experience may be substituted for college degree.

  • Minimum of seven (7) plus years of related work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hospitality field.

  • Must be able to maintain good business relations with guests, clients, and service providers.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and the ability to learn required business systems.

  • Experience with EBMS, Ungerboeck or similar a plus.

  • Must be able to work independently and drive results.

  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.

  • Must possess exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Required variable work schedule such as late hours, early mornings, extended hours, holidays, and weekends.

This is an onsite position that requires in-person collaboration with multiple departments and coverage of events from start to finish.

Pay Rate: $120,000 - $160,000 Annual Salaried/Exempt.
