General Ledger Accountants are accountable for ensuring that business transactions are properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company’s accounting process. General Ledger Accountants are the owners of the financial statements for each separate entity, as well as consolidated statements for the entire company. The General Ledger is the central core of accounting information system that provides a complete record of financial transactions over the life of the company.

Key responsibilities of our Senior General Ledger Accountant (Joint Ventures Team) include:

  • Preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations, coordinating and supporting aged items resolution

  • Preparation and review of Joint Ventures’ financial statements, analyzing variances and initiating/overseeing corrective actions

  • Reconciliation of JVs’ financials to CH2M/Jacobs parent entities’ records, ensuring their timeliness and supporting aged items resolution

  • Preparation and review of journal entries and accruals

  • Review of consolidation files, preparation and review of manual entries supporting consolidation process in accordance with JV’s accounting method

  • Maintaining and review of Non-Controlling Interest and Investment in JVs Rollforwards

  • Supporting monthly and quarterly reporting activities

  • Cooperation with/replying to queries from other GBS and Regional Teams, as well as Business Group and Partner companies’ representatives

  • Close cooperation with Corporate team located in Dallas, TX US

  • Providing support for internal and external audits

  • Providing work leadership to lower-level accounting personnel on complex assignments

  • Supporting supervisor in coordination of the team’s work and various ad hoc non-standard tasks

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant accounting requirements and internal controls

  • Implementation of new solutions and tools.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

  • Very good teamwork skills and positive, proactive attitude

  • Excellent work organization and ability to learn quickly

  • English skills that allow to communicate fluently in everyday situations and actively participate in/moderate conference calls

  • Very good working knowledge of MS Excel (VBA would be an asset)

  • Experience with ERP accounting systems (Oracle R12 preferred) and/or databases

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics, equivalent major or equivalent experience/professional qualifications

  • 5 years of professional experience in US/Global Organization, preferably in General Ledger accounting; Joint Venture accounting experience would be an asset

  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and occasionally work late hours, mainly during month end and quarter end close, to allow successful cooperation with US time zone-based teams and stakeholders.
