Providence Senior Director, Individual Market Sales & Broker Strategy in Irvine, California

The Senior Director, Individual Market Sales & Broker Strategy, is responsible for developing and executing a sales and broker strategy to grow and retain Medicare Advantage, Individual and Family Plan, and Commercial Small Group membership across the Division. In this role, the Senior Director will lead a team who play a significant role in achieving overall value-based membership growth and revenue goals. This position will build and manage external relationships with brokers and payers, develop annual outreach strategies, and partner with Marketing, Communications, and Operations to execute these strategies. In addition, the Sr. Director will maintain a strong relationship and connection with aligned Medical Groups and Affiliated Physicians to achieve growth goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of broker strategy designed to increase patient net new acquisition for Medicare and commercial individual and small group segments for all the South Division.

  • Collaborate with other parts of the organization providing the expertise and support to achieve patient acquisition and retention goals.

  • Collaborate with Providence leadership in the South Division to understand their business goals and then implement programs to grow their business or retain existing business.

  • Lead Medicare open enrollment strategy through the implementation of broker and health plan sales meetings throughout the South Division. Encourage staff to work with brokers and health plans to develop and implement meetings that will provide plan choice for Providence.

  • Develop strategy to continuously improve patient retention. Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop strategies to reach patients who have the potential to leave Providence.

  • Support broker channel through large scale quarterly and annual events which provide pertinent information assisting brokers promoting Providence high quality care to local communities.

  • Develop and coordinate broker communications for the Providence South Division by working with Marketing to develop semi-annual newsletter and collateral development. Develop communications timelines with marketing to assure all deadlines are met.

  • Conduct market analysis to evaluate trends and provide insight into opportunities with new market entries, new benefit designs, and other factors leading to increased enrollment.

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow Individual and Family Plan and Small Group membership.

  • Implement and manage the systems and structures for on-going support of broker escalated member complaints and issue resolution

  • Partner with Medical Group and Affiliated Physicians to implement successful member on-boarding programs

  • Manage the individual market sales and broker relations within the established budget.

  • Hire and retain a high performing team; ensure new employees are oriented to their department and well trained for their jobs.

  • Organize the department workload and establishes work standards to promote efficiency and productivity.

  • Provide on-going periodic reporting of key performance indicator to be shared across the Division.

  • Works in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards. Reports any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotline.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred)

  • 8 years of experience with a health insurance, health system or consulting firm

  • 5 years of Leadership Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, and strategic planning.

  • Experience building and maintaining trusted relationships with the broker community.

  • Experience operating in a regulatory environment and communicating with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

  • Superior knowledge of the regulatory requirements of healthcare insurance, specifically the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Covered California, and the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC)

  • Demonstrates ability to drive multiple large-scale initiatives across a large matrixed organization leading to the successful completion.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, presentation and verbal)

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, social media outlets, copywriting and print production required.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the California Medicare Market, including Brokers, MCOs, health plans, Medical Group, and IPA landscape

  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings as necessary.

  • Ability to provide inspired leadership as a servant leader and team player.
