Siemens Energy Automation Engineer in Gibsonton, Florida

Come join the Siemens-Energy Team at our new “State of the Art” high-tech manufacturing facility in sunny Gibsonton, FL, where our dedicated team designs, tests, and manufactures high-strength & endurance turbine components for Siemens corporation’s Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) manufacturing and overhaul businesses in both the US and the EU. You’ll be challenged to put your skills to work in supporting everything from our robotic molding cells to our ultra-low vacuum casting equipment and much more. You will be creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting plc/hmi logic as required to support all plant operations in the overall maintenance effort and team.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assess, fix, and repair manufacturing and facilities equipment issues, including researching technical data, procuring parts, performing hands-on repairs, and assisting in the coordination of contractor support as needed, promptly.

  • Execute daily assignments to include but not limited to coordinating, supporting, and performing all required plant reactive, preventative, proactive, project, and setup support maintenance activities.

  • Records and document maintenance actions using the site’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and assist in training fellow mechanics/technicians on the proper use of the system, including assisting in the analysis of maintenance issues and trends to make improvement recommendations.

  • Assist the maintenance supervisor and lead in allocating maintenance associate and equipment resources required to safely support production and maintenance department goals and expectations and assist in leading the maintenance department/effort in the absence of the maintenance supervisor and/or lead.

  • Follow safety rules, SOPs, maintenance procedures, and guidelines setting the example for proper housekeeping as well as tool and material control, and assist in implementing the same expectations among their peers on the maintenance team.

  • Assist in training, coaching, and performing other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor

What You Bring

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

  • 5 or more years of experience working in and around electro-mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Proficient in Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA portal including, developing ladder logic, function blocks, STL, graphical interface, HMI screen creation, and historical data monitoring and reporting is preferred.

  • Demonstrated strong electrical skills and ability to effectively use electrical test equipment such as multi-meters, meggers, or other specialized test equipment (as required) and be able to confidently read and interpret electrical prints and schematics is required.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

  • This position will require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position. The candidate must be able to work with export-controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.
