About the Position

The Northern Arizona University College of Nursing is seeking an Assistant Director in North Phoenix, who can contribute to academic excellence, an inclusive learning community, and fostering development support and positive outcomes for faculty and students.

The Assistant Director, North Phoenix for the Prelicensure Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN), is a 12-month administrative faculty contract position that will report directly to the Dean for the College of Nursing (CoN). This position will serve all prelicensure and post licensure (RNBSN and Concurrent Enrollment Program) located at the North Valley campus. This position assists with providing leadership in the management and implementation of the BSN programs within a designated region. They will participate in budget preparation and fiscal administration, curriculum development and coordination, determination of teaching assignments, supervision and evaluation of fa ulty, and selection/coordination of program specific external clinical facilities and instruction in conjunction with the Dean. This position will provide professional leadership and support for teaching faculty; serve as a mentor and facilitator for faculty assigned; and enable an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and responsibility. This position will provide oversight and availability with our school partners, involvement with student activities, and initiate curriculum changes and marketing updates. This position will also assess space available to accommodate new or expanding programs within assigned region.

Responsibilities Include:

Understand and perform in the role of Nurse Educator, inclusive of teaching, scholarship, and service.

Design and develop written syllabi/course outlines, curricula, and instructional materials.

Facilitate implementation of evidence-based teaching and assessment in classroom instruction (online and in-person), nursing skills labs, clinical facility, and clinical simulation to entry-level BSN students.

Supervise faculty in classroom, online, lab, and/or clinical settings.

Establish and promote educational and business partnerships.

Maintain office hours to support operations of the campus
