Job Description

Server Assistant (Seasonal Part Time)

As Server Assistant at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, you are an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our food & beverage experience. Your warm, personal attention and knowledge of our outstanding offerings makes guests feel unique and valued.

Contract Date: May 15th, 2024 - October 31st, 2024. 

What you will be doing:

• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way

• The Assistant Server will be an integral part of the Confederation Lounge & Harvest Room team.

• Assist Food & Beverage Servers in all aspects of the dining experience including but are not limited to serving dishes to tables, clearing and re-setting tables and maintaining side stations.

• Setting, replenishing and maintaining product offerings on buffets according to Fairmont Hotels and Resort standards

• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage

• Other duties as assigned

Physical Aspects Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift

• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs

• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

• Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team

• Pro-Serve Certificate required prior to commencing employment

• Required to be of legal age (18 years old) to serve alcohol in Alberta

You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts. 

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents
