PLANNER OR SENIOR PLANNER The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC) has two full-time Planner or Senior Planner openings in its ARDC Planning Division. Planners develop or assist in coordinating transportation, land use, recreation, and community development plans as well as coordinating GIS mapping projects in the seven county Arrowhead Region of Minnesota. Senior Planners have full project responsibility to design, plan, and execute projects, including developing a work program, secure funding for programs and projects, develop contracts and grant agreements, and oversee program budgets. Senior Planners act as a liaison with public officials, agency representatives and community leaders, assist in supervision of Planning Assistants, Associate Planners, Planners, and interns, serve as lead staff of ARDC-related non-profit boards and committees as needed, and assist Division Director with strategy development. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: *Level and salary to be determined based on experience and qualifications. *Planner: Four-year degree in a planning related field with two years of pertinent experience; or a two-year degree with at least four years pertinent experience; or a Master s Degree in a planning related field; or six years pertinent experience. *Senior Planner: Four-year degree in a related field with four years pertinent experience, or a two-year degree with at least six years pertinent experience, or a Master s Degree in a related field and at least two years of pertinent experience, or eight years pertinent experience. Experience includes but is not limited to, working with boards, committees, and government entities. Also required: A valid driver s license.
