Whim Hospitality is seeking a passionate Executive Chef for its exciting restaurant concept at their Camp Lucy Resort location. This person should not only bring their talent but also their excitement to create an amazing holistic experience to everyone that walks through the doors. This is a working chef position dedicated to every aseptic of curating memories through the restaurant cuisine, pool and room service. You will be a part of concepting a menu that will bring people from near and far to dine in the highly stylized restaurant space fashioned out of a 19th century Vietnamese town hall with inspirations from around the world. This will be an exciting move for any chef and the beginning of many more projects to come. Job Summary

  • Managing all staffing activities, including daily assignment of the kitchen by training, and managing the culinary team to use best practices for food preparation, production, and presentation.

  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.

  • Set the standards and always lead by example to create a team atmosphere which is lively and casual but always working efficiently and professionally.

  • Must maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Help in preparation of all food menus.

  • Produce high-quality dishes both design and taste wise.

  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards.

  • Following all Health and Safety Protocols by state and restaurant.

  • Ordering appropriately all BOH needed items within budget.

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Must love food, have a sophisticated palette, and great knowledge of wide variety of processes and cuisines.

  • Excels in great time management, communication and leadership skills is an absolute must.

  • Very capable in leading a team and delegating tasks to appropriate staff members in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • A positive attitude with the ability to bring out the best in your team members.

  • Ability to work extremely well under pressure and problem solve with the best of them.

  • In depth knowledge of kitchen equipment and processes, safety, and sanitation regulations.

  • Candidate must have 2+ years’ experience in kitchen management position.

  • Texas Managers Food Handlers’ Certificate
