ASM Global Public Safety Supervisor in Detroit, Michigan

Key Job Elements:

  • Field oversight of the contracted security staff to ensure compliance with the contract as well as facility policies and procedures.

  • Provide guidance and procedural support to contracted security staff during patrol operations and during incidents.

  • Conduct on-the-job field training of contract security personnel in order maintain and enhance overall security team performance.

  • Respond to and conduct investigation of all criminal incidents.

  • Respond to and conduct investigation of all serious or life-threatening injuries.

  • Respond to and conduct investigation of all employee injuries recordable under workers compensation laws.

  • Assume on scene command and control of major incidents.

  • Complete follow-up investigations and reports as necessary.

  • Assist the Security Support Technician with keys and lock cores.

  • Create and issue identification and access cards.

  • Operate public safety equipment and systems to include cross training with engineering for emergency shutdown of systems such as:

  • Fire sprinkler and suppression

  • Electrical breakers and disconnects

  • Domestic water supply

  • Natural gas piping

  • Chilled water and steam lines

  • Air handling units

  • Overhead doors

  • Trash compactors

  • Provide additional support for security patrol operations as necessary.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education – Educational background and academic qualifications are important and required, with expertise in safety, law enforcement and/or security. Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience – Five plus (5+) years’ experience working in public safety. Supervisor experience a plus

  • Skills – Strong working knowledge of safety and security principles and practices. Excellent Investigative techniques. Ability to organize plan and execute large scale security plans are a plus.

  • Knowledge-. Large Venue Security and Public Safety Planning, Knowledge of policies and procedures of governmental security agencies, i.e., USSS, Homeland Security, State Police, Fire, etc.

  • Well Developed Communication Skills – Oral, written and listening. Good math and analytical skills and close attention to detail. Ability to lead, facilitate and organize. Ability to read and comprehend technical information and manuals.

  • Customer Focus – Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.

  • Team Player – Creates strong morale and spirit within team; shares wins and successes; fosters open dialogue; creates a feeling of belonging in the team.
