Stetson University Head Coach, Women's Lacrosse CH9959 in DeLand, Florida

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach of Women’s Lacrosse is responsible for the administration of all aspects of an inaugural competitive Division I women’s lacrosse program including, but not limited to: recruitment of qualified student-athletes with a commitment to academic success and the ability to relate to those student-athletes; scheduling; player development; scouting; budget management; summer sports camps; program promotion and public relations; fundraising; staff oversight; and compliance with Stetson University and NCAA rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the administration of all aspects of the women's lacrosse program

  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes

  • Assist in pre-, in-, and post-season training, practices, and games

  • Assist in all areas relating to the operation of the lacrosse program, including day-to-day administrative and operational responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of appropriate public relations, fund-raising, and promotional activities as necessary

  • Participate in the continued development and implementation of the Summer Camp Program

  • Assist in coordination of practice and game preparation

  • Motivate and inspire student-athletes to excel in the classroom and on the field

  • Attend functions related to the lacrosse program

  • Prepare reports and evaluate players

  • Perform other site or job-related duties as may be assigned

Required Skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication and strong computer skills

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, fellow employees, program boosters, and the public

  • Experience with day-to-day administrative and operational responsibilities of leading and supervising a lacrosse program, including but not limited to, implementation of running and workout programs, budget management, professional development, NCAA rules and regulations, organization skills, and supporting the educational goals and ideals of the members of the women’s lacrosse program

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Possess knowledge of NCAA Division 1 rules and regulations; and a commitment to adhere to all policies, rules and regulations of the NCAA and ASUN Conference as required

    Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the University’s auto insurance carrier.

    Work Environment: Duties require: both indoor and outdoor work; direct exposure to prevailing weather, extreme heat, humidity, and extreme cold; physical ability to endure physically strenuous work-outs and physical exercise on a daily basis, including standing and/or walking for long periods, bending, stooping, lifting; manual dexterity; lifting of up to fifty pounds; ability to work hours outside the normal University schedule; physical ability to travel; perceptual demands for sound, form, depth.
