Responsibilities ? Drives truck to transport material/equipment to and from specified destinations. ? Positions blocks, tie roper, and other devices to secure load during transit. ? Load and unload trucks. ? Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures ? Inspect loads to ensure that materials are secure ? Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions ? Report defects, accidents, or violations immediately ? Notify dispatcher at arrival time on job assigned and when move is complete. ? Perform minor emergency roadside repairs. ? Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections ? Must be willing to assist crews when necessary ? Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles when necessary ? Must be willing to work nights and weekend when necessary ? Perform other duties as assigned or required. Skills: ? Proven work experience as a truck driver ? Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations ? Use of defensive driving techniques ? Ability to operate both a manual and automatic transmission Qualifications: ? Minimum of five years verifiable CDL driving experience in moving heavy construction equipment using lowboy tractor trailer ? Class A Commercial Drivers License and Medical Certification Card ? M.V.R. with no recent moving or driving violations ? Drivers must successfully pass Road Test and Physical Qualification and Examinations in accordance with DOT requirements
