Vi Vice President of Operations in Chicago, Illinois

Vi is the parent organization of ten exclusive continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) in some of the nation's most desirable locales. The Vice President of Operations leads the day to day operations of the Vi communities delivering efficient operations, consistent quality of services, outstanding care, and maximized financial performance while ensuring superior resident and employee satisfaction. This individual directs the community Executive Directors and provides strategy, thought leadership, and guidance for their local management teams.

The Vice President of Operations also acts as part of the extended executive management team helping the organization set and obtain its objectives.

Responsibilities include, but is not limited to:

  • Developing strategic plans and objectives with direct oversite for the Food & Beverage and Lifestyles functions.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships working cross-functionally with all corporate office departments to speed information and direct community efforts towards positive outcomes in a timely fashion.

  • Managing the annual budgeting process that drives community teams toward successful attainment of community occupancy, entrance fee and Net Operating Income (NOI) goals.

  • Providing leadership and mentoring for Associate Executive Directors (AED). Ensuring that future leaders are properly positioned for development and readiness to lead.

  • Measuring successful distribution of services through site visits and monthly financial reviews, resident satisfaction surveys, employee opinion surveys and by interfacing with residents and employees at the properties.


The professional selected for this role will have strong managerial and leadership skills, excellent written and oral communications including platform speaking skills. Ability to build trusting relationships across departments and build consensus for new ideas/directions in an enthusiastic, organized fashion. Must possess excellent critical thinking, judgment and problem-solving skills; broad financial acumen and demonstrated project management skills. Requires knowledge of Federal and State laws regarding human resources, fair housing, elder care, assisted living and skilled nursing compliance requirements.

Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree and experience in hospitality or senior living industry preferred. Minimum of 10 years of multi-site operational progressive management experience.
