Vi Vice President of Human Resources in Chicago, Illinois

Reporting to the SVP of HR and Learning and OD, the VP of Human Resources provides strategic leadership in developing and executing human resources strategies. Collaborates, directs and drives implementation of strategic HR initiatives to ensure HR programs and initiatives are integrated and effective in supporting organizational goals and objectives.

This position oversees a wide range of central HR processes in support of the broader HR function and business including the Company's Human Resources and Information System (HRIS) function.

  • Partners with the Director of HRIS and functional HR leaders on the execution of new HRIS modules and release updates around Core HCM and HR modules. Working with HR functional leaders, develops business cases and proposes and implements process and technology efficiencies to ensure highly accurate, compliance, and efficient HR practices. Creates, collaborates, and supports research and evaluation of HR vendors and business cases.

Identifies, creates, executes, coordinates, and collaborates with Corporate Office Human Resources and functional leaders on short and long-term strategies, processes, programs, and systems to improve the effectiveness of the Human Resources function.

  • Includes the oversight of planning, developing and implementing processes, policies and programs to maximize the effectiveness of the HR function. Evaluates and establishes systems/metrics for analysis and measurement of HR functions.

  • Develops Human Resources planning systems to effectively leverage planning and development, the allocation of resources and workflow and appropriate communications and change management.

  • Drives continuous improvement through the development and evaluation of meaningful metrics.

Serves as a trusted advisor and provides counsel to senior management on Human Resources issues and programs.


Qualifications for this role includes practical experience across all HR functional areas including compensation and benefits, employee relations, HR compliance, HRIS, payroll and talent acquisition in addition to:

  • Ability to understand, evaluate, and assess HR-related business and / or organizational needs with sound, reliable experience and judgement.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive, broad-based HR management experience in a multi-site organization with 5 or more years of experience as an HR executive is required.

Master's degree in Business or Human Resources is required. SHRM or HRCI certification is preferred.
