Position: Fixed Income Sales Trader

Location: Onsite in either New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, or Philadelphia

Compensation: Competitive Commission Level (Compensation will be tied to revenue generation)

Cabrera Capital Markets is building out and expanding its fixed income sales and trading desk. We are active in both primary and secondary markets. As a boutique firm Cabrera provides customized services to our clients and is open to individuals with a range of securities experience i.e. – Rates, Credit, Corporates, MBS&ABS etc… We are looking for a seasoned professional with an established book of business that includes Tier 1 – Tier 3 institutional clients. The successful candidate will have established relationships and a strong history of revenue generation. Soliciting new relationships and converting prospects into revenue-generating accounts is also an ongoing responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively engage and maintain coverage of Tier I through Tier 3 institutional clients for structured products, rates, credit, securitized products, etc… in both primary and secondary markets

  • Generate trade ideas, assess relative value, provide updates on important news flow and provide portfolio recommendations to our portfolio managers clients

  • Generate reverse inquiry to drive primary issuance

  • Responsible for 750K+ in annual revenues

  • Facilitate and promote TFI sales/trading activity by effectively interacting with Traders, Bankers, and Clients

  • Regularly arrange and/or participate in Client meetings, conference calls, events, etc…, to cultivate business relationships

  • Trouble-shoot client issues, providing suitable solutions to questions and resolving problems in a timely manner

  • Manage risk in accordance with the Company’s desk policy

  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field

  • Two (2) or more years of trading or sales experience in credit, rates, corporates, or securitized products, on either buy-side or sell-side

  • Advanced understanding of the fixed income markets and structured products securities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate and interface with clients

  • Aptitude for analyzing and interpreting complex information in a timely manner

  • Must possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Proficient in use of Bloomberg and Excel

  • SIE, FINRA series 7 and 63 licensures required (or within 90 days of hire)

  • Ability to work non-traditional work hours as needed and attend business related events
