Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Data Engineer in Chicago, Illinois. Our team operates in the Business Management section of a CPA Firm and is looking for a candidate skilled in processing and managing large amounts of data. The role involves the use of advanced software and systems, including Apache Spark, Database, EO/IR systems, Erwin Data, HDFS, and AWS technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize Apache Spark and HDFS to process and analyze large datasets.

• Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems.

• Develop and employ strategies for data acquisition and ensure data-sets are clean and devoid of errors.

• Use Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake to create data processing systems and predictive models.

• Implement AB Testing and Analytics to assess the quality of data processing.

• Develop Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to meet business needs and improve decision making.

• Create and maintain Business Requirement Document to align data engineering strategy with business goals.

• Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.

• Work in collaboration with data science team, assisting them in building and optimizing products into an innovative industry leader.

• Build analytics tools to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Data Engineer.

• Proven expertise in Apache Spark, Database, EO/IR systems, Erwin Data, and HDFS.

• Familiarity with AB Testing, Analytics, AWS Technologies, and Business Intelligence (BI).

• Proficient in creating Business Requirement Documents.

• Skilled in using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Proven track record of managing and executing projects.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Knowledge of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.

• Deep knowledge in data mining and segmentation techniques.
