U.S. Army Sustainment Command Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait

This permanent position is with the 401st Army Field Support Brigade, at Camp Arifjan Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Initial tour is (1) year unaccompanied with possible extensions. RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION/INCENTIVE - May be requested and may be authorized up to 25% of base salary paid bi-weekly. Responsibilities Serve as the Support Operations Officer responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and integrating logistics operations. Provide direction and staff level oversight of multiple Army Field Support Battalions (AFSBns) geographically through-out the Brigade area of support. Supervise logistics management activities on material readiness of numerous combat and contingency units and multi-faceted issues of great operational impacts. Perform multi-functional logistics planning, budget formulation, operations, supply, maintenance, training and administration to support the requirements of the Brigade. Prepare correspondence, operational plans, operations and fragmentary orders to support Brigade operations. Interprets procedures and policies in problem situations where operating staff or other organizations seek guidance and solutions to difficult problems. Provide direction and staff level oversight of multiple Army Field Support Battalions (AFSBns) and Logistics Readiness Centers (LRCs) geographically through-out the Brigade area of support. Supervise civilian and military personnel and provides contractor oversight. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: experience with hand off procedures for Army Prepositioned Stocks; analyze logistics operations to support program functionality; direct complex logistics program management activities supportive of combat and contingency units; develop logistics policy proposals to maintain program efficiencies; oversee work of subordinates and/or contractors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-13. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Problem Solving Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). ?If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet time-in-grade requirement. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Employees who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250. For positions in a foreign country, that country's laws or international agreements may have a direct impact on the ability of an employee's same sex domestic partner or spouse to accompany the employee and receive certain benefits. This is a Life Cycle Logistics Career Field position. The initial length of this overseas tour is 12 months. Defense National Relocation Program will not be authorized.
