Job Title: Human Resources Assistant
Job Summary:
This position is in support of the Department of Justice, United States Attorney's Office (USAO) - Eastern District of Virginia. This role involves managing various HR functions such as preparing job descriptions, composing vacancy announcements, and providing administrative support to Personnel Security Specialists
Responsibilities Include:
Preparing and reviewing positions and job descriptions
Creating and composing vacancy announcements
Drafting and storing position assessment criteria and analysis
Uploading vacancy announcements and assessments
Gathering documentation and data to support Government personnel in vetting qualification of applicants and conducting qualification reviews
Collecting, summarizing, and presenting information associated with an applicant's veteran's preference
Assisting in the preparation of necessary documentation to support Government officials in the audit and close out of personnel staffing cases
Assisting with initiating e-QIPs and resolving e-QIP issues and/or questions, reviewing pre-employment or re-investigative documents
Providing administrative support to Personnel Security Specialists
Required Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma
U.S. citizenship
4+ years of experience in human resources/staffing
Knowledge of HR concepts, practices, laws, regulations, and precedents
Knowledge of staffing and recruitment principles, laws, regulations, and guidelines
Knowledge of the full range of position classification and position management principles, policies, concepts, practices, and techniques
Knowledge of automated HR/personnel systems
Desired:
Experience with the USAO-VAE's Personnel Tracking System (PTS)
Familiarity with USA Staffing
Work Setting and Environment:
Monday - Friday, normal working hours
Work is to be performed at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Alexandria, VA
